Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Brian Shore 

Hailing from Jacksonville Florida, Pastor Brian has been the Pastor of OBC

since January 14, 2024. Previously he lead churches in Lakeland, Daytona

Beach, Boynton Beach, and Jacksonville, Florida. While he was pastoring, he

was also an adjunct psychology Professor, a church health consultant and he

served as the Southeastern Church Advance Director for the Christian and

Missionary Alliance. Pastor B started his career as a public-school teacher;

teaching elementary, middle and high school in Brevard County, Florida. He

was also a track, cross country and girl’s basketball coach during that time.

He graduated from the University of Central Fl. With a BA and later earned

an MA degree in psychology from Stetson University. In 1982, he sensed a

call to pastoral ministry, moved to Nyack NY and in 1985 completed a

Master of Divinity degree from the Alliance Theological Seminary. In 2018

at the age of 65 he completed his dissertation and graduated from the

University of North Florida with a Doctorate of Education in Higher

Education Leadership. His dissertation is titled; The Inuence of Emotional

Woundedness on Leaders. Pastor B has been a church planter and has

served as a church turn-around specialist.

Pastor Brian serves with his wife Vicki. The have been married since

October 20, 1977. They have 3 grown children: Aaron, Kristin and Stacey.

They have 10 grandchildren living in Florida and Maine. Pastor B is an

occasional surfer.

Our MUSIC DIRECTOR

SAL HUGHES 

Sal Hughes is the Music Director, Pianist, and Organist at The Ogunquit Baptist Church on Shore Road in Ogunquit, Maine. Sal is an accomplished jazz pianist and composer who began his professional career at the age of fifteen, performing at Caffe Prego in Ogunquit, Maine where he maintained his residency for 10 years. Sal soon established himself as a sought-after accomplished jazz pianist, playing for an array of restaurants and venues in the New England Area. At the age of twenty-one, Sal released an album of original music entitled, “Between Worlds”, with one of its tracks, “One Wish Left” being selected in Portsmouth’s Jazz Compilation, “A Tiny Bit Huge”. As the title suggests, Sal combines influences across many musical landscapes to create a world of sound that is true to his own. In addition, Sal is very involved in his community, accompanying for High School Musicals/Choirs, Church Services/Choirs, and recently had the opportunity to mentor a senior high school student from Traip Academy in composition, as part of his “Senior Capstone.” Sal Hughes is also an affiliate of The North Church in Portsmouth, NH, playing monthly for Senior Centers’, as well as for their Celebrations of Life and Wedding Ceremonies.

Our Staff 

At Ogunquit Baptist Church, our dedicated staff and ministry leaders serve with hearts committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ and supporting our welcoming fellowship here in beautiful Ogunquit, Maine. Led by Reverend Dr. Brian Shore, our Pastor, the team guides our congregation through faithful preaching, worship, and care for one another. We are grateful for the faithful service of Hilda Wynne (Secretary), Bill Wynne (Custodian), Sal Hughes (Music Director), Matty Booth (Media Production), Steve Lareau (Sound Tech). Our Children's Ministry Coordinator, Beth Switzer helps our youth program continue to grow. Together, this gifted group helps create an environment where all are invited to experience contemporary and traditional worship, meaningful prayer, biblical teaching, and genuine community every Sunday at 9:30 am.
